Born in New York City, Dumont maintained dual careers in the Arts and the financial services industry there until 2004. Settling in Delaware, she is inspired today by her Chesapeake and Delaware Bay surroundings as well as by her favorite urban and rural destinations in New York, New England and France.
Ms. Dumont enjoys working directly from life and paints often outdoors in the plein air tradition. Awarded top honors from a number of juried competitions, she exhibits regularly and is affiliated with several Fine Art galleries and artist associations. Ms. Dumont's patrons include regional public institutions and private collectors throughout the country.
