McBride Gallery ~ Established in 1980
Founded by Cynthia McBride, McBride Gallery opened on June 13, 1980 with 15 hand-selected artists.
After 10 years at 117 Main Street, in August of 1990 the gallery relocated to larger space at 215 Main Street. Formerly a colonist’s home, this stately (circa 1885) Georgian brick colonial building with seven rooms and 3 fireplaces on the first floor was perfect to display art in a natural home-like setting.
Cynthia McBride said, “I remember the first week the gallery opened. With great anticipation I awaited the public’s response to the paintings and sculpture I had so carefully chosen.
I would like to say a special ‘thank you’ to our artists for 30 years of excellence, and to our staff, friends, neighbors and collectors for their sustaining patronage.”
