Plein Air Painting - Celebrating Anniversaries
Bill Schmidt has been painting en plein air for 40 years, exhibiting in regional, national and international shows. He is considered a 'purist' as his Impressionist plein air paintings are painted on location in winter and summer, very cold and very hot days. He enjoys painting views of Spa Creek, one of his favorite places, not only for the view, but also for the watching neighbors who sympathetically bring him cold drinks on hot summer days. He is also celebrating 25 years of exhibiting his paintings at McBride Gallery in Annapolis, MD.
Bill Schmidt loves to travel to paint. His favorites are Annapolis and small country towns in Western Maryland This exhibit will include a selection of recent paintings of New England, Washington D.C, scenes on and around the Chesapeake Bay and Maryland's coastal towns.
